Lamar Antwan Porter was born Nov, 20, 1983 in Portland, Oregon. Lamar has been known around the Rose City as Young P and has currently been creating buzz under the stage name Yung Phly. Phly fell in love with urban music and the growing hip hop phenom at an early age. As a small child his mother encouraged the talent he had for imitating the styles and movements of the artist while they watched music videos together. Inspired by the encouragement he received from family audiences creating music became his passion. In 2003 Yung Phly first began his journey to stardom becoming inspired by other local rappers trying to pave the way in Portland. In 2005, he and other long time friends such as Javaun Sims aka Jay child were involved with a developing entertainment group The Gov. More recently in 2008, Yung Phly decided to become a solo artist and has already hit the town with smash singles, “Bachelor”, “You Make Me Say” & "Blazer". His main focus is to have his voice heard to the world, and to influence young males and females who went through the same struggles as he did. Yung Phly is currently working on small project with locally known producer PeaDi Ecks. Where the two are working on material to create an album. With Phly's lyrics and PeaDi's beats the two are looking to produce a sound and identity for Portland music.
