Prynce Myke has been singing since the age of 5 ever since he discovered MTV music videos and was inspired by the late great Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. As a way to keep him inspired and driven to make noise, his parent Michael Grant Sr. and Roxanne Williams bought him multiple instruments such as a keyboard and drum set both of which he destroyed after 4 months :). It was at that time that his mother realized that singing made him happy so she pushed him to sing on the Youth choir called the Rose Buds at Israel Baptist Church. He would continue to sing here as a youth as much as possible until his family took a turn for the worst. From then, he would just sing within himself whatever melody came to mind until his mother placed him and his brother Kevin in the Baltimore City Police Choir at the age of 10, where they would go to sing the National Anthem at the Orioles Stadium. It wasn't until Myke turned 17 and went away to college in Columbia, SC at Allen University that he would sing on a choir again under the direction of Donna Foster and would later on be directed by former New Kids on the Block producer Gregory McPherson. Here he came into his own and his singing soul was reborn. Later on, started to attend Agape Church, right across the street from the University where he later on began to sing on the adult choir under the direction of former Mattie Moss-Clark soprano, Marlene Scott aka Molly. Being that Myke was a power Tenor, Molly indirectly worked out the foundational kinks with Myke's voice such as pitch, tone, and harmony. Thanks to the direction of Marlene Scott and Gregory McPherson he was able to go on the Spring Break Tour with University Choir in 2007 where he learned that he had an addiction to travelling and singing. While on tour in Atlanta, the choir recorded at a Studio on Atlanta where many big names had worked before such as Destiny's Child, Lil Wayne etc. After realizing that the music department was going down the toilet when Dr. McPherson left Allen University, he transferred to Morgan State University where he sang with the University Choir under the direction of Dr. Conway and was vocally coached by Opera singer Devonna Rowe. Knowing that would be his final semester for a while he soaked up all he could in terms of Vocal Performance. As a past-time he sang with Andre Nance & Greater Praise from 2007 to 2010 and recorded his first song, Jesus Is a Way Maker which got some radio play on 88.9FM on Sunday's. During his time with Greater Praise, he would tour with them at the COGIC AIMs Conventions, in Kentucky, Detroit, and Tampa where he met many of his Gospel music inspirations such as The Clark Sisters, Maurette Brown-Clark, Judith Christie-McAllister, Ricky Dillard and many more. At the end of his time with Greater Praise due to leadership contradictions, he sought out other methods and venues to sing such as weddings and funerals etc. Now at the age of 25 he keeps his voice fresh by singing at local karaoke bars with friends and is looking to make a career out with the gift he was blessed with on the other side of the music industry.
