Scott and Dani are a two piece folk/acoustic/rock band whose sound has said to resemble The Civil Wars, Zac Brown Band, Head and the Heart, Mumford and Sons as well as the Dave Mathews Band. Their songwriting is heavily influenced by lyrics that tell a story, progressive rhythms and vocal harmonies throughout.  With such an eclectic range of compositions it’s hard to categorize their music as anything but “original”. Scott has a background in not holding jobs for very long and playing late nights at bars and nightclubs as a fill in trumpet player.  Trained classically on trumpet he sought out the contemporary side of music in his teens but never took music seriously until he began songwriting in 2011. That continued through June of 2012 when he was introduced to Dani to record backup vocals for a studio session. After five minutes of rehearsing the sound that had been missing the whole time was finally there and he asked if she would join the “Scott Standing Band” which was changed to “Scott and Dani.” Dani’s background is Voice/Opera, studying at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. She took on the recording project as a fun outlet to try something new but found that she wanted to pursue the commercial side of music and take a leap of faith by leaving Cornish to further her latest project, “Scott and Dani”.  Our first show was an absolute disaster.  Whatever could go wrong did, and Scott contemplated giving it up entirely.  So while at a Shell gas station off Martin Way putting air in the tires of her 92' Camry they decided to go home and practice til 7am.  That schedule continued ever since.  After work, practice til 3-4 in the morning and go back to work.  Over the course of five months they have become inseperable spending every waking minute living eating and breathing this band.  “We didn’t realize this was fate until our world’s collided, but when you can have two singers/musicians around each other 24/7 and not want to kill each other, there’s only one word TO describe it…. Fate.”
