Susan Shaughnessy has been a poet for fifteen years, but began putting her words to original music and found her calling in songwriting six years ago. In that time, she's played to sold out crowds at the famous Duplex in New York City, recorded a full-length album with producer Rob Freeman (Hidden In Plain View, Armor For Sleep), and worked as a session singer for DeFacto Music and Green Thumb Music. Most recently, Susan recorded backup vocals at Avatar Studios in New York City for Todd English's album, produced by Chino Maurice (Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Brandy).
With a BA in Music Industry and four years of radio and record label experience, Susan is a music industry professional who is attuned to the ins and outs of the music world. Her honest, relatable lyrics, visceral orchestrations and experience in this exigent business are Susan's strongest qualities.
She also loves hair.
