The Foxfires

We are an Indie Rock/Seagaze band from Nyack, NY called The Foxfires. We have been writing music and playing shows extensively since late 2013 from NY, CT, RI, NJ, DE, PA, NC, VA, MD, OH, WI, DC, MA, IL, and NYC sharing the stage with acts such as Sparks the Rescue, Rookie of the Year, Hawthorne Heights, Pentimento, Have Mercy, This Good Robot, Former Misfits lead vocalist, Michale Graves and former Dance Gavin Dance vocalist, Kurt Travis as well as hundreds of others. June 2015 saw the release of our first EP, Seasons with our former record label Manic Kat Records based in Rockland County, NY. March 16th 2016 saw our debut to mainstream radio on 107.1 The Peak in New York and New Jersey. About a month later in April of 2016, The Foxfires made their way to 92.7 and 96.9 WRRV radio in Hudson Valley NY. And in May, into a rotation on WLOY radio in Maryland as well as Black Diamond Radio in Scotland. Summer of 2016 saw our biggest tour yet in support of our then upcoming album and in September 3, 2016 we released our first full length album titled, “Reawakening” with Grammy Award Winning Producer, Ted Young- responsible for records such as Blonde Redhead’s “23”, Hawthorne Heights’ “If Only You Were Lonely”, Sonic Youth’s “The Eternal”, Taking Back Sunday’s “Where You Want To Be”, and Kurt Vile’s “Smoke Ring for My Halo” and “Walkin on a Pretty Daze” as well as his Grammy Award winning historical album work with The Rolling Stones, “Charlie is My Darling.” Our music is in the likeness of artists such Wilco, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, The 1975, Two Door Cinema Club, Built To Spill, and Milo Green- a marriage of the ethereal, psychedelic nature of shoegaze, the dancing movement of Indie Pop, the homegrown feeling of folk music, and the oceanic ambience of surf rock- a genre we like to call “Seagaze” which we like to define as music with a positive message coming from Bruce Lee's quote about being like water-flowing and ready to accept change.
