Description

Released as The Mule, on the live sessions of the second CD. Hope you enjoy the addition of guitar work by living-legend Denny Breau. Denny is the youngest Maine Country Music Hall of Famer, the brother of the late jazz guitarist Lenny Breau. This recording also includes percussion work by Rusty Wiltjer. Rusty not only plays drums he is the master potter who creates them. One of the most unique and professional percussionists I have had the pleasure of creating with.

Lyrics

Don’t worry about the mule just load the cart. What he can’t pull with his back, he’ll pull with his heart. Some memories are just bound to get more mileage. Like Grandpas leather bound King James. The memories we haul around inside us. I remember all their faces but I don’t recall their names. Don’t worry about the cold I’ll split the wood. We’ll spend time around the fire ‘cause close to you feels good. Some memories are just bound to get more mileage. Like Grandmas care worn rockin’ chair. A thousand children’s books are now behind us. The kids are chasing rainbows and castles in the air. This old Molly she can haul the load. I have loved you for so long, I'll love you when you go. These old eyes won’t cry but they might weep. Funny how things worn this smooth still can cut you deep. Some memories are just bound to get more mileage. Like listening to the whippoorwill as he calls you off to sleep. Don’t worry about your grave I’ll keep it clean. I’ll stop by now and again just so we can speak. Lately things remembered I’m forgetting. Somehow I must have worn them thin. The horses they are runnin’ but I ain’t bettin’ Think I’ll take them for a ride down familiar roads again. Don’t worry about the mule… Just load the cart.
