Description
The Room is about a man who has lost someone close to him, but can't come to terms or accept that it has happened. It is a song that deals with something everyone will have to at some point; the finality of someone never coming home.
Lyrics
This room is my church, my hope, my need. Your bed is my window pane, it shows me everything I see. Wednesday's flowers hold a truth I can't concede. Speaking words of deception, in the browning of their leaves. So I would give it all up right here, just to tell you everything I didn't mean. I would give it all up right here, just to leave this room the same way we came in. The same way we came in. I roam these halls so empty, just looking for signs you are here. These people are acting crazy, what is it in me that they fear. I can still hear you, ringing sweetly in my ear. Your voice still comforts me, giving hope that you are near. I would steal a breath from the last dying angel, I would bring her to her knees. I would tell a lie to God himself, if it would bring you back to me. But I won't leave until, you come back here with me. So I would give it all up right here, just to tell you everything I didn't mean. I would give it all up right here, just to leave this room the same way we came in. I would steal a breath from the last dying angel, I would bring her to her knees. I would tell a lie to God himself, if it would bring you back to me. I would break every heart, I would sell every soul. I would give up my days, I would give up control. But I won't leave until you come back here, with me.
