Runaround

I was writing a different song with a friend and we had taken a break. She told me about this couple she knows, and the man was cheating on his wife. But then he started cheating on the girl he was cheating on his wife with! A country song had to be written about that! The melody of the song came to me in my sleep. I forced myself out of bed and sang it into my telephone answering machine so I wouldn’t forget it.
