Description
I always wanted to write an old school outlaw song. So I went out west for two weeks and did. This is one of them.
Lyrics
The Day That Vengeance Came Arrangement and Words by Aaron Roy He never pulled his gun before not on another man and as he jerked it from his left hip it felt heavy in his hand Although he was just a boy a boy of seventeen He found the man that gunned his family down Down in New Orleans then he thumbed that hammer back Time to settle a score And the smell of judgment filled the air and the outlaw hit the floor and he would never again be the same the day that vengeance came killing a man is easier than livin with it is hiding form the memories with a name that isn't his Drunk in a saloon and on the run The end justifies the means. as that U.S. marshal calls him out With warrants form New Orleans then thumbed that hammer back like he'd done it once before and the smell of Judgment filled the air and the marshal lay dead floor and he would never again be the same the day that vengeance came He'd pulled his gun many times on other men and as he jerked it from his hip it was steady in his hand he spun to see who had called him out for the awful things he'd done there stood a boy maybe seventeen it was the U.S. marshals son He couldn't thumbed that hammer back his just pointed at the floor but the smell of Judgment filled the air He wouldn't have to run anymore and he would never again be the same the day that vengeance came
