The band's primary songwriter, guitarist/vocalist Jeff Smith, explains “I’ll Take You does have a lot of sexual undertones,” he notes, with a chuckle. “We decided to make the music a little more seductive and laidback, with a sensual sound.” Mission fulfilled, for “I'll Take You” is seducing listeners whenever it gets heard. It's a crowd-pleaser at Fairchild gigs, while Chad Kroeger of Nickelback (a key influence on the band) was reportedly observed enjoying the song at a recent showcase.
