This song is about being an illegal immigrant in the united states. The lyrics were inspired by my girl friend who is an illegal immigrant. The words reflect a struggle between wanting this country to be their new home but also keeping their own traditional values as well without losing themselves in the American way. Sometimes the only reason they come over here isnt because they want to but because they have to, its a neccessity.
