It was quite apparent that he was destined for greatness the day his high school senior class announced “…and Most Talented – Kevin Jaméz Rogers!” The foundation for performing began during his high school years when he realized all talents are God-given and began to take his craft seriously. He further developed his art studying with the King Players while attending Morehouse College and later with the Alliance Theatre Acting Program. Jaméz, a native of Atlanta, GA, has acted in several touring stage productions including “Martin,” “The Azusa Street Revival” and “A Good Man Is Hard To Find II,” which he also directed. Other stage credits include “Tray and Deborah”, “The Resurrection”, “Negro Dance Lesson”, “Spitfire Grill”, and the lead in “Five Guys Named Moe”. His other outstanding director’s credits include “When Love Calls You Home,” “Take A Trip” and “Hell…No!” He has also written, directed, and produced several short skits as well as mounted and toured his first musical stage play, “Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places,” written, directed and produced by himself. Additional directing credits include “A Good Man Is Hard To Find II”, “Where Have All The Good Men Gone”, and several acting workshops, summer camps and private acting sessions. His television and film credits include several commercials, industrials and films including “The Sweet Auburn Soap Opera,” “Remember the Titans,” and “Chalk Line.” In addition to acting, directing and writing, Jaméz is also known as a former local radio personality, a songwriter and a vocalist. At age 7 he started singing in church and by the age of 12 he began directing choirs. This guy has even performed opera! He is an original member of the contemporary Gospel male group Judah and has performed with such artists as Jennifer Holiday, Shirley Caesar, Vickie Winans, Commissioned, Kim Burrell, Witness, Shun Pace, Lucresia Campbell, and Al Hudson and One Way. He also recorded with the new Gospel artists Cherrisse Stephens and Eumeka Body-Griffin, and has recorded several radio jingles and voice-overs. In his last “corporate gig” he served as the Creative Director for Access Meetings and Events (formerly M2Creative, Inc.) where he scripted, produced and directed corporate theatre, films, and music videos. What is he doing now? Currently Jaméz is finishing up his first Soul album scheduled for release in the Fall of 2010, of which he is the co-executive producer. And most recently, his entertainment and events company, Jaméz Rogers Productions produced the Pro10 Ultima Hair Show during the Bronner Bros. International Hair Show, during which he worked with R&B Artist Keyshia Cole and singer, actress, and spokesperson, Brandy. Projects in the pipeline include more stage and screenplays and he is currently filming his reality TV show, Jaméz Rogers: Puttin’ It Out There. Look for the multi-talented Jaméz Rogers anywhere in the entertainment industry. Although he is already writing other plays, he aspires to write, direct and produce for TV and plans to make bigger footprints on the big screen – in front of and behind the camera. From performing to producing, from stage to television, Jaméz is swiftly blazing a trail to promote positive entertainment. “I believe entertainment can be used as a tool to minister to people.
