Description
This is a song I wrote for and in memory of my grandfather after he passed away. During his final years I was on tour most of the time and could not spend much time with him. After he passed, I was given his old broken pocket watch that I keep with me all of the time. This is in memory of Marvin Lee Churney.
Lyrics
Verse-1 I have your hands, I have your eyes, But I cannot see you, up in the sky It's been raining, as far as I can see There's an empty river, drowning me Chorus I believe, there's a canopy of your wisdom You are holding me I have your old pocket watch, time doesnt work, but Ive made a life out of living Verse My father is a 1st generation Born post war, He makes a living, behind an insecure door My mother's an example, of tough love and pride I'm constantly amazed, she makes the most out of life Chorus I believe, there's a canopy of your wisdom You are holding me I have your old pocket watch, time doesnt work, but Ive made a life out of living Bridge The sound of a child, breaks me down The sun reminds, what goes up, must come down I have a secret I am unable to share I am a 27 yr child Chorus I believe, there's a canopy of strength You are holding me I have your old pocket watch, time doesnt work, but I've made a life out of living
