Description
Is this a description about myself or the song? My songs speak for themselves. Each song I write has a story that makes it survive. So in that case, this song describes me perfectly. Piece Of You is one of the many chapters in my rollercoaster of a life. Possibly the biggest chapter of them all. The quality doesn't concern me, seeing as it was recorded in my bedroom. It's the lyrics that I hope make you feel something.
Lyrics
A week from Thursday I'll be leaving for Tennessee you promised you'd make your way out to come and see me before I leave but there's always something getting in the way you're still able to say what you want to say but when you're away it doesn't feel the same I only see you in my dreams and that's not good enough of a reality even if you came, you wouldn't be able to stay I guess you were never really mine anyway I just haven't met you yet but I still miss you even when I'm at my best do you ever think of me? I know I think of you and everything I wish we could do I'll let go of you I have nothing else to lose I'll always have a little piece of you With out you I don't know who I am I don't want to just exist I want to live even if you don't like me tomorrow I know you loved me yesterday it's hard to tell how true these feelings are when you live so damn far away I just haven't met you yet but I still miss you even when I'm at my best do you ever think of me? I know I think of you and everything I wish we could do I'll let go of you I have nothing else to lose I'll always have a little piece of you You can't tell me what I've been dying to hear and then disappear we're both going our separate ways we'll live extrodinary lives and meet in the middle someday I just haven't met you yet but I still miss you even when I'm at my best do you ever think of me? I know I think of you and everything I wish we could do I'll let go of you I have nothing else to lose I'll always have a little piece of you I only see you in my dreams and that's not good enough of a reality even if you came, you wouldn't be able to stay I guess you were never really mine anyway
