Watcher clearly has studied the liner notes of both The Bends and Is This It, but what is compelling is that along with their haunting piano, muted riffs, and searing vocals this band drips with authenticity. Maybe most importantly, on this their debut release, the band is able to successfully transcend monotony while still maintaining a veneer of post-punk cool. - David Lewis Play Magazine, New Haven
