Description
Recorded in 2008 and the first track The Chain ever got radio airplay with (on a late night local artist spotlight) "Down Here" chronicles Doug Penfield's experience with addiction and the attitudes that come along with it. Doug was living out of a car in Southern Califonia before becoming the lead singer of The Chain. "Down Here" was inspired by some of the rough times in the years leading up to and during the earliest incarnations of the band that is The Chain today.
Lyrics
I'll stay up if it kills me Until I stop spinning Another song That I'll forget And take it all away Lost another time And I'll take another line Swallow your regrets And let your heart regress Down here everybody's cool Kick back and do what you want to do I know too true you thought you knew I'll worry about me and you about you I'll give up to the evening In my hazy dreaming Climb the walls in heavy breaths and kicking in heavy sweats Breeze the candy clean it seems to get to me forward to better times and lost to find my life Down here everybody's cool Kick back and do what you want to do I know too true you thought you knew I'll worry about me and you about you Don't care much for what you do and less about you I'm sorry and wish the best forgive and forget regret Breeze the candy clean it seems to get to me forward to better times and lost to find my life Down here everybody's cool Kick back and do what you want to do I know too true you though you knew I'll worry about me and you about you
