Description

This is a song I wrote about my first true love. We grew up in New Mexico and there is a lot of nostalgia about Billy the Kid, Pancho Villa, the Butterfield stage line, and Geronimo, so I was compelled to work them into the lyrics. The song says I believed my girl and I would eventually get back together. We didn't...maybe I should have focused on the UFO's?

Lyrics

I can't say, no I can't say, I have never won But I'll sit here and swear girl, it hasn't been over once And now and then when I'm alone practicing how to lose Blonde hair, barefootin' woman, I think of you. And where are you? Oh, I don't know, I'm in New Mexico Playing on my lonely steel string lettin' the rythms roll And Billy the Kid and Pancho Villa, they don't run no more Neither does the Butterfield or ol' Geronimo. But I Believe, I Believe, I Believe, oh, I Believe You'll be coming my way again And girl I know you've seen some time, that I realize And you're probably not the sweet sixteen you were when you were mine But girl I'm not a hangin' judge, we've all gone astray And when you love somebody everything else can fade And I Believe, I Believe, I Believe, I Believe You'll be coming my way again Oh, I Believe, I Believe, I Believe, oh, I Believe You'll be coming my way again
