This song was inspired by a scene in the movie "Adaptation" in which two twins (both played by Nicolas Cage) are talking about a girl one of them liked back in high school. Moments later, his killed without warning. I was also inspired by the general vibe of "Witchita Lineman" and Johnny Cash's near-death work.
