Lyrics

I was looking for my fortune to find In the dark if night I was nearly blind When I tripped and dropped my guitar to the ground Could not find it as I looked all around Then I’d heard an old man tuning my guitar He said take this boy and you will go far Then the played a lick like I’d never heard He gave it back and I matched him note for word But before I could thank him he was gone And the dark was taken by the dark of night As I looked around at were I stood I knew That those stories that I’d heard had all been true For I stood in the crossroads of old And three times I heard the rooster crow Then everything I saw was turning red I dropped down on my knees and prayed to God Don’t let me fall like others before But the whole time I played fire from my guitar I was looking for my fortune to find In the dark if night I was nearly blind For I stood in the crossroads of old And I feared I’d sold away my soul As I looked around at were I stood I knew That all the stories I'd heard were true
