I wrote this song 12 years to the day that we lost the greatest American singer/songwriter that ever lived, the late great Townes Van Sant. Townes music was too real for commercial sucess and is the finest exapmle of an artist embracing the pain of life, in order to have it come out in his art. Townes is my greates inspiration, and his music will live on forever. This song is about his passing, and what it, and he means to me. Fare the Well Townes,Ill see you on the other side.
