Description

I've been a California girl my whole life, but I'm packing up my stuff and moving out to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in music. I like new places, but I like to stay comfortable. Moving halfway across the country isn't exactly comfortable, but I wrote this song this past summer in hopes of the new experiences I will have there. This song is called "Summertime".

Lyrics

She ran away from home Never looking back, she’s all alone She’s got big dreams, living life with her heart on her sleeve But she wants more, singing bout love but it’s just a heartbreak metaphor Last night, she broke down the walls and she broke out of the fight She prays for, down on her knees, that she’d make it through the war But she hears a sound, cannons firing as the battle comes on back around She screams, “Come find me, when the light’s filled by the dark” She sings on rooftops, filling her lungs until her breath stops June and July and August Summertime she opened her eyes through all this That in the war, love is the only thing that is worth fighting for Rhyme or reason, she’s got her words flowing like changing seasons Like a canvas, she’s painting her world with her heart and her fists But she found love in high and low places More than enough than a million faces
