Lyrics

sit staring out the window drinking coffee smoking cigarettes in a small cafe like so many scattered throughout the great northwest between the lines the sign read and as always in places like these if possible i'll take the window seat the morning's cold but the sun peaks from over the horizon. oregon bringing a slight sparkle to everything it touches thereby pushing the features out to a nice shiny bluntness and you can tell how the land rises and releases ever so gentle like the temple on a steeple of a russian cathedral and how a woman can make you blush. oregon and i'll be one of those tiny dust motes coming on a sunbeam through your window and i'll touch down lightly on your skin from doing somersaults in the wind this place is littered with adults and newspapers like halifax new jersey or georgia's macon and i get a side glance on an occasion wondering what i'm doing here and the question i can't answer. oregon and i'll sleep forever like the rocks beneath me till i disintegrate and the wind bequeaths me and i'll change direction but only from within somersaults in the wind somersaults in the wind there i go and here i come again around this axis i spin somersaults in the wind
