Description

I originally wrote this tune as I had experienced a "summer crush" earlier in my teens. I put the chord progression together and along wiht my writing co-writer arrived at a better melody than I had . The tune has evolved over the years both by title and lyric. Originally it was called Siesta Harbor, then Hideaway Harbor and now finally Last Summer Harbor.

Lyrics

LAST SUMMER HARBOR I sit here alone, watch the setting sun Just being here again is stirring up my mind I walk the same beach, fading footprints in the sand I could feel it when your eyes met mine, and when you took my hand We sailed one day, to a place beyond the reef And lost in the night, the stars, they brought us home Now a year has come and gone, and this place doesn’t feel the same And I know now I can’t get it back , but old memories do remain About you, and the water About being as close to love as I’ve ever been About you and Last Summer Harbor Baby don't you think that I'll forget ‘Cause maybe you’re as close as I’ll ever get We lay there as the ocean waves, washed away the day Felt the warm breeze blowing, deep into the night And as the sun set in your eyes, the smell of your perfume Swept me away on a dream that night, under this same moon There's just something about you and water Something I can't forget You caught me drifting and pulled me under And haven't come up, I haven't come up yet Lead: About you, and the water About being as close to love as I’ve ever been About you and Last Summer Harbor Baby don't you think that I'll forget ‘Cause maybe you’re as close as I’ll ever get Words and music by RC west 1998 Copyright 1998 Westgate Music
