Big Hat

"Big hat, no cows" is a mid western expression with a fairly obvious meaning and is the inspiration for this song. Additional inspiration, however, came from country music stars who all wear cowboy hats and boots for no apparent reason...except that Hank Williams did. As far as I know, Nashville is not known for its ranches and Hank wore a hat because he was balding. Basically this song is a real cowboy's lament at phonies stealing his identity--and I'm not talking about SS numbers.
