Pretend was written when I once performed the following: Suppressed my sexuality for someone else’s pleasure. Denied myself pleasure. Did things for others that I didn’t want to do, but felt obligated because of the potential threat to the relationship. Was a victim. Hated being a woman. Resented men. Sacrificed my self-worth and confidence as a woman and surrendered it to please someone else. Basically, I felt like many parts of me had died .
