Description

The title cut from my home recorded studio CD "Oh to Be Young Again". The song is about me, I'm 54 years old so I have been reflecting lately how quickly time as gone by in my life. I grew up along the beach of Fernandina Beach, Florida. I was there some months ago thinking about my days growing up there. So later this song came to me.

Lyrics

VS 1: Just the other day, I stood by the waves by a beach I walked on when I was young. Now I'm growing old, where did the days go? Time flies with every setting son. VS 2: I can see my self as a younger man, splashing in the waves out on the sea. But time's like the ocean, it just keeps on rolling, leaving behind it's memory. Chorus: Where has by youth gone? Oh to be young again. VS. 3: I thought growing older would take forever, my youth has gone by just like the wind. Now I can only keep getting older, no I can never go back there again. VS. 4: But there are things that I'd like to change, if I could go back I know I would. But for all my days spent out on the ocean, I wouldn't change that if I could. Chorus: Where has by youth gone? Oh to be young again. Bridge: I hated to leave the ocean, but the day came and I had to say good by. Even the footprints I left the other day, have been washed away with the tide. Chorus: Where has by youth gone? Oh to be young again. Repeat. Ending VS. Just the other day I stood by the waves on a beach I walked on when I was young.
