Description
My mother's family homesteaded in North Dakota in the late 1800s. Just a little song about the farm that is no longer operating. My older brothers would always tell me about this organ that our grandpa would make them play or they had to milk the cows. I was out to the farm recently and the organ is still there. So much like the farm and the organ that no longer wok... The memories long to remain.
Lyrics
They came out hre with nothing, they left here just the same, They built it up with their bare hands, And now it just blows in the wind Twenty five years later, I go visit the farm, The organs still in the attic, The days we had on them keys Sarah, Sarah, I know Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, I know Tomorrow we give it away Sarah, Sarah, I know Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, I know Tomorrow will bring our sorrow This old house has got a name But this old house cant hould her fame And though the organ wont play The memories long to remain The past is buried in the prairie It;s just the wind saying hello And Im not here to say good bye But I must as the sun sets tonight Sarah, Sarah, I know Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, I know Tomorrow we give it away Sarah, Sarah, I know Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, I know Tomorrow will bring our sorrow
