Paper Rainbow

This song is sort of symbolic. The paper rainbow is a false hope. The line in the song, "just as long as it doesn't rain the paint wont run off my paper rainbow" basically means that if we continue as we are now and you dont tell me we will never be more than my false hopes will live on and all will be well.
