Are those black storm could I see in the sky? Is that some bad news I hear passing by? A friend of mine has been forsaken And now my whole world has been shaken up. How can we trust in sunny weather? How can we take a leap of faith that we shall be together? How can we act when the messages aren’t clear? We don’t listen cause we don’t want to hear The Distant Thunder. I see the clouds and it makes me wonder What’s going on, what’s been going on. I think someday we’ll all go under And all we hold dear will be gone. How did love get so political When how we treat each other is so critical? We try to hide from our confusion Only to seek our disillusion. The limbs are breaking, plants are dying. People in love have stopped trying. All the Earth is clothed in mourning For we won’t yield to the warning Of the Distant Thunder. I see the clouds and it makes me wonder What’s going on, what’s been going on. I think someday we’ll all go under And all we hold dear will be gone.
