Album: negative pocket...broken swing
By:

Duration

Description

Recorded by my friend Don Thomas, in his basement. This song was inspired by three past relationships and their untimely decay. The beginning lyrics " monday i stayed with you, tuesday our love was true, wednesday someone better filled your void..." is obviously a pretty risque play on words, but also describes the frustration of not being " good enough " to offer her what she needs, or thinks that she needs...and the fruitless aftermath of a broken-heart.

Lyrics

Monday i stayed with you, Tuesday our love was true, Wednesday someone better filled your void Now i'm sitting all alone, got me lookin at the phone...knowing that you're never gonna call... Thursday night i thought of you, friday morning i wanted you, all day long i went back through the phone But your number and your name were making someone else a game, and i'm just sitting on my own Alone, guess i'll always be alone... Torn, will my happy find a home?... Lonely future without you, nothing else that i can do, to prove my love to one who doesn't care... Lonliness is crushing strong, as for me i'll walk along, i'd be wrong to try again for you... Best of luck in your new life, i hope he makes you a happy wife, guess i'll go on searching for my soul Blood from my skin, i spilled it out and on the pages from my heart... How could you fall in love with him when i was right there from the start? I hear your voice at night, and bolt awake to touch your face... but you're nowhere in sight, i'm empty in my lonely place... Love ain't no burnin' thing, more like a broken swing, where it hurts to reach your highest high Cause every time you're coming down, your head is scraping on the ground... Hands to your head you bleed and die... Alone, alone...guess i'll always be alone... How could you fall in love with him?
