Description
Locally Famous is a song that tells two stories. Both stories are about transforming someone's life through music. Stories like these made me realize that maybe I would never be a big "star" but that doesn't mean that I can't be a star in my own backyard, and make a difference right here at home.

Locally Famous Written by Scott Wilcox © August 14, 2009 Locally Famous, widely Unknown It’s ok cause I don’t mind being needed close to home Locally Famous, widely askew It’s okay cause I don’t mind staying right here close to you I walked in to Wal-mart, a guy takes my hand (he says) That song you played last night made my wife get up and dance See, she wasn’t feeling well, lost her will to fight But after that song you played she said everything’ll be alright Chorus I went to the VA, to visit my grandpa I met a man who lost his legs in the Persian Gulf War I sang him a little song called Amazing Grace you would have thought I was Willie Nelson by the smile on his face. (But I’m) Locally Famous, widely unknown It’s ok, cause I don’t mind being needed close to home Locally Famous, widely askew It’s okay cause I don’t mind staying right here close to you Bridge When I was a young boy, I dreamt to be a star But now I know, to change the world, you don’t have to go that far Chorus
