Lyrics
The country town that I grew up in is the sweetest place on earth to be a boy. But when I turned 18, I knew I needed something; it's the kind of place that you leave behind, I had to look so that I could find, and I ain't been back there in a long, long time. London town was cold and lonely, and those English girls just wouldn't give it up to me. But our basement room was radio-friendly, and it brings a smile from an ocean away, when I'm feeling down about the USA, but if I went back now it just wouldn't be the same. A rising tide took me to Boston; I spent ten long years in the shadow of the Pru. I don't know what I had, I just know I lost it; somewhere back there in those reckless nights, I got crossed up with my misplaced pride, and I was lucky to get out of there alive. A broken man came down to Pennsylvania. Some good-hearted people there helped to make me whole. And if you call me lucky, I couldn't say I'd blame you. So I'm putting out a call to the 570, come on into town and let's play some rock and roll, New York City's not a bad place to call home. Starting now we can call this place our home.
