Description
I wrote and recorded this song all by my lonesome in the dining room of a house I used to rent. I am moderately proficient at the instruments most common in rock music, and I like to use my understanding of them to make recordings of the fun little pop songs I write all on my own. I feel like this is an innately hummable number, and those who have heard it generally seem to enjoy it.
Lyrics
Lying out on the lawn, I can hear someone calling me. Maybe it's you back in my room. Now everyone's going to assume I was in there with you. Waling into the house, I can tell that you're not alone. Maybe it's me who's your company. But either way, it's easy to see You're not going to leave. Going along with you is a back-track almost every time. Try to be strong, but, still, there's a weakness I cannot define. The dictionary's not helping me. And they've yet to print a crazy-bitch glossary. We may need something more rudimentary. I think it's ending with Z, and starts with A-B- See the alphabet's a series of symbols which represent the phonetic options for our common language. And if you want, I could spell a new one with you. But only if...only if you wanted me to. But I don't think that's what Jesus would do. Walking into my room. "Wheel Of Fortune" is coming on. All I can see is "R.S.T.L.N.E.", and you're already under the sheets. Guess you're sleeping with me. Still, I know, in the morning, you'll creep out like you always do Quick and aloof, and strangely removed, like I'm a perfect stranger to you. Sometimes I think it's true. Coming on strong always leads crawling away brutalized. Still we cling on, until every option has been utilized. That's not how I want us to be. I want us to have drinks and toss Pente beads. And if we happen to kiss occasionally, I guess that's okay with me. I think that's fine with me.
