Lyrics

I first heard it on the radio. Then I turned on my TV They said our skies were full of demons. And I stared in disbelief. As I watched the towers crumble to the ground. I raised my hand to my mouth I couldn't make a sound. My heart was beating so fast I could barely breath. Could they really hate us that much just because we're free? I'm not afraid but I'm angry. My mind is reeling and I'm numb. This can't be real I must be dreaming. What have they just begun? Then I watched the numbers rise and rise. I kept willing them to stop. What monsters prey upon the innocent? May these cowards go to hell to burn and to rot. And as I watch the heros searching for the lost. I see that freedom doesn't come without the cost. But they had no choice they were forced to sacrifice. They paid for you and I by giving up their lives. I'm not afraid but I'm shaken. How many more before it's done? How many broken hearts stand waiting After what they've just begun? For the first time in way too long. I got down on my knees to pray. I asked the Lord for forgiveness, then I begged him please to give this whole world strength. As I watched my tear drops falling to the floor. I didn't want to be alone there anymore. So come stand beside me and we'll help each other through. You can come lean on me and I will lean on you. I'm not afraid and I'm not broken. Cause I know where I'll be when it's done. We'll be the ones with last words spoken. When we end what they've begun.... Where will you be when it's done?
