You know, your basic pirate's life
Lyrics
Pirate When I was just a young boy still in my rolling crib I fashioned my first blanky into a first class jib. And from the oak rails of my crib, I lashed into a mast hitched my night shirt into a bandana and sailed off making fast. My first words were neither Mom or Dad; really more like an ARRRGH They seemed so proud, they must have known I’d navigate by star. Tall ships, long trips, taken truck, forsaken luck, It’s been a blur at sea. A sharpened knife, the sea’s your wife, and it’s a buccaneer’s life for me. So you wanna be a pirate. Well I don’t really buy it. But I know you’re gonna try it. I just hope you survive it. And here’s a little carrot. You can have yourself a parrot. it’s almost like you’ll wear it. A real pirate’s look will scare it. I’m not too proud to say aloud that it’s been a fine fine tale I’ve dined with Kings, seen the finer things, and always to set sail. Iv’e lost a few, and it must be true that I’ve taken often what’s not mine. But I’ve lived by a code like the decks I rode across the oceans of time. It’s a pirate’s life, and it’s been alright, That’s what I’m here to say. Even though a trade wind blow lashed out like the Devil’s spray. So let your baby’s be cowboys, let them laugh and play with their toys. as long as they don’t swashbuckle and take the ships of other boys. So you wanna be a pirate. Well I don’t really buy it. But I know you’re gonna try it. I just hope you survive it. And here’s a little carrot. You can have yourself a parrot. it’s almost like you’ll wear it. A real pirate’s look will scare it.
