This song addresses the modern phenomenon of people thinking that if they wish hard enough for something to be true, it will be. It spawned the new word "truthyness" meaning something that isn't real, but you've convinced enough people around you to play along that is almost doesn't matter. In this song I'm saying that I'll always respect that "straight edge" between what's real and what's delusional--even if I get fired for it.
