Description
A year ago, and fresh out of university, I lost a dream job abroad, and had no choice but to return home to my parents penniless, and now, unemployed. This song was written soon after, depicting the struggle to stay ok when up against the odds, a need to maintain a mental calmness in the face of adversity. The song is a lullaby, saying that it's ok not to have found your feet, at the same time acknowledging how hard it is to keep up that morale and how it can fade day by day.
Lyrics
I'm not failing, I'm just waiting, after something so beautiful, I'm not wasting, I'm not fading, I'm just trailing after something so beautiful, But you don't see the light that escapes from my eyes, burning bright like a comet, You don't see the light that escapes from my eyes, burning up bright like a comet. I'm not faking, I do care, But I'm not waking every day with a glazed stare, Still you don't see the light that escapes from my eyes, burning bright like a comet, You don't see the light that escapes from my eyes, burning up bright like a comet. I'm not wasting, I'm just spending some time with my energies, Making sure my heart's in the right place.
