Armed with a wide diversity of material, the band combine a powerful rhythm sections with soaring guitars and evocative vocals, together these elements blend to bridge the elusive gap between complexity and accessibility, creating the unique sound that is distinctively 13th Hour. With their debut album, 'Thirteen' being recently self released. They aim to make their music available to as many people as possible. Recorded and produced by band member Tim and James, the band have been encouraged by positive feedback from airplay by local radio and their ever growing fan-base. The is little doubt that the album is poised to impress with its unique fusion of emotionally powerful, angst ridden rock. REVIEWS... An extract of a review of our debut album, 'Thirteen', by Sam Saunders of 'Whispering & Hollering' "13th Hour are a home town band with, so far, limited experience of the kinds of venue and touring that either demolish the spirit or sharpen up the focus. David Little, James Bird, Tim Price, Matthew Rolfe and Adam Kenney have got technical ability, a strong creative streak and the kind of organized intelligence that finds them grinding out a very good, self-produced, self-released collection of songs with some serious promise. And unlike the standard "we've got some CDs at the back" offerings, this is one that will not turn up in three years to embarrass anybody. Indeed, whatever the band has gone on to in three years time, this is one that each of them can still be proud of. "It's unashamed British rock with genuine melodic and lyrical content that you might not be expecting in a Nottingham back room. The sound is bright, strong and attacking. The songs start with strong hooks. The balance is always good: the instruments work as a unit, without weak patches. Everything is done with a sense of urgency and commitment. The band have taken care to create variety within the songs and between the songs. There's a strong sense of drama, and there's no shying away when a euphoric bit of guitar shredding is called for. "Lights Go Out" is my favorite song of the set. It's a shoutable chorus and there are strong solo guitar moments that work well and build successfully. "Save This Day" has a great opening... (and) "Miracle Tonight" shows a good shift of pace with some Spanish guitar and a touch of electric over the top - all very good..." Review from The Shed, Leicester, by Trevor Locke of 'Get Your Band On' management. October 2008 "Supporting Backline were Nottingham Band 13th Hour. Five band members with two powerful vocalists who shared the task of delivering a contrapuntal melodic vocal line, David and Tim put on an impressive demonstration of their vocal skills. Vigorous, captivating music flowed from the stage, laced with engaging phrases and riffs, driven by exhilarating beats from Matt on the skins. "The band's intense and thrilling songs jumped from soft melodic passages to a crescendo of thunderous walls of sound. They pumped out colorful fireworks of guitar playing with James and Adam displaying some dexterous finger work on the strings. A brilliant band that play some stunning rock music."
