Its with this earnest method that 7 Years Today forges the songs heard on their debut EP. With the pre-release of the single “These Four Walls,” the band fast began building a fanbase and receive accolades in the U.S. and abroad. “These Four Walls,” written by Mylon while serving in the U.S. Army is easy to relate to by anyone who has gone through periods of both isolation and hope. In August of 2009, the song hit 1 on the Mevio Music Alley's Hitmaker Podcast from Japan and was the most requested song for October 2009 on Blockhead Internet Radio. The band seeks to deepen the connection made with fans (and gain new ones) by creating songs that are honest and memorable. “Another Song” is the sound of pure heartbreak. Within the first few days of the EP release, “Another Song” had already received considerable airplay on several podcasts and online radio stations. 7 Years Today plays music branded “American Heavy Rock.” The focus is creating a song that means something to the listener. Its about being honest and true. The sound is a fusion of hard rock from both modern and past eras, blues-influenced guitar solos, a rhythm section that forms a driving pulse, and a voice somewhere between Layne Staley and Johnny Cash.
