Nikku played the piano and K sang songs, but they were just far enough away that they never heard each other. They both dreamed of being rockstars, but Nikku moved away before they could ever meet and form a plan. In fact, they only met as grownups far away on the west coast, when they both rented an apartment in the same building.The rest is history. They worked on a lot of songs together and then K started the band Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden. Nikku played on the recordings. Nikku started a rock band called The Kindness Kind and went to film scoring school. K decided to leave Seattle, but only after they pinkie swore to keep making songs together. Over the internets they wrote four new songs that were different than before. They decided to join forces officially as K+Nikku. So it begins... antarctica is an evolving collection of orchestral pop songs released as they come, recorded across country, from Seattle to Nashville to New York. With influences as wide as their geographical span, K+Nikku spin stories of reformed vampires, ghost bullfighters, and brooding femme fatales. K’s lush vocals float over sweeping strings, black and white keys, handmade beats and heavy bass lines, all performed, mixed up and recorded by Nikku himself.
