Emerging from the heart of Dallas, TX is Angel Ruiz, better known by his stage name, Lil G Tha Prophet. Born and raised in the infamous Oak Cliff community, the 17 year-old up-and-coming rap artist is the oldest of three siblings, two brothers and one sister. Growing up around Hip-Hop so much and listening to his father and uncle doing freestyle battles; Lil G began to put lyrics together at the young age of seven and eventually decided to follow in their footsteps of becoming a great emcee. Unfortunately, that dream came to a halt when he was just 10 years-old after he lost his uncle due to a homicide. The ordeal left the pain-stricken youth full of anger and frustration which lead him to a downward spiral. In and out of trouble throughout his teenage years and being arrested for possessing a gun at the age of 15, Lil G began to feel hopeless until his father, “G”, introduced him to “MK” (Microphone Killa) of Hardcore Records, a Dallas-based independent record label. After listening to the positive things that G had to say about his son, MK was interested in listening to his music. Soon after, Lil G approached MK delivering a remarkable freestyle performance that had Microphone Killa very impressed. He quickly recorded the spitfire rapper later offering him a record deal with Hardcore Records. With a supportive label behind his thriving rap career, Lil G Tha Prophet is currently gearing up to release his upcoming debut album, “Fire in My Eyes”, set to drop Monday, December 17, 2012. Completing the album in less than two months, Lil G reached deep inside him and pulled out the joy and pain he experienced throughout his young life. Be prepared to hear a hungry artist with raw talent and a story to tell. In his own words Lil G expresses, "music truly saved my life”, a heartfelt statement that couldn’t be any more true.
