"illfunk" has been creating music of every genre since childhood, originally earning himself the nickname "illfunk" as a teenager due to his amazing free style rhyme flow. "illfunk" joined his brother and bandmates shortly after graduating high school in 1996, to form the alternative punk band 5 Hoss Cartwrights. 5HC released their full length album "Bashitout" in 1998, and celebrated that release with a tour of the Northwest area with local cult alt-punk legends Nomeansno of Vancouver, Canada. After parting ways with an influential member, the band went on to perform for several years under the name Test Proof Positive. Failing to recapture the original momentum, 5HC parted ways in 2000. "illfunk" went on to marry and have children, and become a successful electrical engineer for the local utility. During that time he continued to perfect his rhyme flow, appearing on KJR Sports Radio 950 in the afternoons weekly for a "rap segment" of current events in local sports. In addition to weekly recorded performances, "illfunk" could be heard spitting his game live at the Seattle Seahawks Charity Auction at Anthony's in Seattle after the 2005 Super Bowl appearance. illfunk and MC MD continued to collaborate on a Hip Hop - Gangsta - Rap parody project titled "Honorable Thugs". 'illfunk" began recording his solo project SixTwoSeven in mid 2011. The 7 song EP - "Allow me for a moment if you will...to be Frank" is currently pending release. "illfunk" continues to write and record new material every day, and with recent upgrades to DubSevenRecords studio in the NW, more power alt-punk ballads are assuredly coming your way soon.  "illfunk" most recently appeared on the KISS 106.1 Bender and Molly morning show as a surprise constant for the "Win a Date with Kat Fisher" promotion for their "Fall Ball" concert in November of 2015.  "illfunk" lives in Gig Harbor Washington with his Dog Lyra Marie and his daughter Amiah. His son Blaeklee is following in his footsteps and is the front man for his own Death Core band based out of Greeley Colorado.
