Steve Norris grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois, across the river fromSt. Louis.  He began taking classical piano lessons at age four, playing Chopin, Beethoven, and Mozart by the age of eight, while at the same time playing guitar at church masses every Sunday.  However, as he entered his teens, the music of the Beatles, the Stones, the blues influence ofSt. Louis, and then varying artists and acts such as Bob Dylan,Styx, Journey, SuperTramp and Tom Petty caught his attention and his imagination.  Inspired, Norris fell in love with the craft of Songwriting and began writing songs as early as 12 or 13 years of age.  His pop music, infused with everything from the famed piano work that  Norris is known for, to cutting edge guitar work, to tenor and alto sax, to soaring melodies with four and five part vocal harmonies, grabs the listener and takes them on a wild musical ride. Steve Norris’ self titled debut album, co-produced by Allan Blazek (Eagles, Don Henley, Joe Walsh) takes one through a myriad of emotions, from the sentimental reflections on the passage of time as Norris revisits his old neighborhood in two gems, “Ice Cream Man,” and “Monticello Place,” to the intense imagery of the plight of the homeless illustrated in the up-tempo, yet haunting “Streets at Night.” Norris is also not afraid though, to have a little fun as he shows in the whimsical tongue and cheek piece “Jesus at theBallPark” about a drunken bum who wanders into Dodger Stadium and finds Jesus.  The album ends with perhaps his most popular tune in his live act, “Everything about You.”  This is a chaotic, no-holds barred, almost show-tune like arrangement that breaks every rule of pop music, including opening and closing with diminished arpeggios; not something you’ll hear in any other pop tune.  However, its infectious and addictive chorus will grab you and leave you singing along for hours after you’ve taken the headphones off.  Steve Norris’ debut album is available on iTunes and over 750 global online stores.
