www.thequeenofkings.com So we’re supposed to tell you about ourselves..ok..here we go: we’ve been writing songs for as long as we can remember. It’s a collection of songs that pretty much mean the world to us…They chronicle our life,  relationships and our devotion to trying to write honest stuff down and share it.  We started recording in June of 2011 and it took about a year to get to a place where we felt like it was finished. Kike, and me spent countless hours deliberating, fighting, and seeking compromise on what would make this music the best it could be. This year represents one of the most tumultuous years of my life that thankfully made me a stronger, and better artist. I’m incredibly grateful for that. This record was really about us learning to trust our own instincts, and more importantly, recognize how desperately we needed to learn to listen to ourselves. Where are you from and how’d you end up here? Kike is from Mexico…that amazing and colorful country…he grew up singing “rancheras with mariachis”…he has the most beautiful and sweet voice I heard in my life, he is really talented…  we met and immediately started planning how to make music together…that was the birth of “The Queen of Kings” 4 years ago. I grew up in San Juan de los Morros, Venezuela. Since hardly anyone knows where that is, I’ll tell you: It’s the most beautiful little town in my country sorrounded with many horses, mountains, rivers, motocycles and good music…and spent most of my time in the woods developing a delightfully overactive imagination that I’m pretty proud to say I’ve managed to salvage.  I started feeling the need to write it all down.So I did. And then I wanted to start singing those things.   I play “cuatro” a typical instrument from Venezuela,  and actually started calling myself a musician. So, thanks for coming.
