Shu has been performing professionally since the age of 16. Hiding his real age, he would sneak into clubs and find a way to sit in with the talent in the central Ohio area. Eventually, he began to book his own shows across central Ohio. After high school, Acoustic Shu hit the road landing his first tour in the USVI, playing 6 nights a week to thousands of tourists each day. While there, he studied the local music scene, sitting in with some the best Reggae bands the country has ever heard. This pushed him into a very unique style, and was gaining recognition for his interpretations of some of the all time greatest music such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, and The Rolling Stones.
Next stop was Austin, Texas where Shu quickly became a household name on Austin's famous 6th Street. Playing 6 nights a week, he would rock crowds by the thousands every night. While there he began to play with a lot of the other local artists, studying the cities passion for the blues. This opened a whole new world for his music. There is an immense tejano and jazz influence that thrives in the outer clubs in Austin and San Antonio. This immediately grabbed Shu's attention and it began to see it sneak into his act, like osmosis.
Now armed with a solid rock background and a passion for reggae, tejano, jazz, and blues, his shows are as diverse as they are unique. Now back in the central Ohio area, he is on the road sharing his passion for all types of music, still incorporating all of these influences into every song. Making all material his own, his originals have begun to shine as well. Along the way you can expect to see some of Ohio's best musicians on stage with him, from time to time. Like a fine wine things only get better with age.
