"AlAnAnn" is Allison Cornell on vocals, violin and keyboards and Ann Klein on vocals, guitar and mandolin. They call their brand of music "ECLECTICana" -- progressive roots/folk with a little urban subway rumble and texas twang, whimsical lyrics and addicting harmonies. AlanAnn are an offshoot of the band the Harlem Parlour Music Club. Their forthcoming recordings are being produced by Sammy Merendino and Tim Hatfield. AlanAnn will be touring in Europe in November. Allison is a seasoned singer who is no stranger to the stage. She earned her Masters from Juilliard and immediately started making a name for herself as a versatile accompanist in the studio and on the road, providing keyboards, viola/violin, guitar and backup vocals for Suzanne Vega, Paula Cole, Joe Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Shania Twain, Angelique Kidjo, Jann Arden, Tracy Chapman, Pat Benatar, Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors, Ann-Margret, Ronnie Spector, Rachael Sage, Carter Burwell, Tim Booth, Angelo Badelmente and Branford Marsalis. As a songwriter/producer, she released "Pretty Colored Lights" in 2007. This eclectic collection of jazz infused r&b/pop and Americana showcases Allison’s singing in a uniquely soulful and soothing warm voice. "I Can't Get Over You," Allison's pop-ballad, recently won first prize in the international UNISONG contest. Also a winner is her Pop Uptempo / Dance "Automatic" which won TOP 20 FINALIST. “Cornell has made an enviable career out of making really good people sound even better. Now with this long over-due release, she does that for herself. Make sure you get this lovely release by a real musician, and now at last, a real artist.” David Malachowski, Daily Freeman, Kingston, NY Ann Klein is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer. As a composer/songwriter, she has: toured in Europe consistently for 10 years; recorded five cds of original songs; composed music for three documentaries for French television; written music to lyrics for THE ENERGY FACTORY (an organization committed to tackling the growing problem of child obesity in the United States); written music for MetroMusic a music library in NYC. As a guitarist, Ann has had the honor of playing with Kate Pierson of the B-52s, Joan Osborne, PM Dawn, Sara Lee, Toshi Reagon, Keri Noble, Mary Lee Kortes, Ani DiFranco, and the American Composers Orchestra (at Carnegie Hall) among others. She has also produced several artists with her partner, Tim Hatfield, of Cowboy Technical Services. Ann was also the recipient of a grant to attend the McDowell Colony in the summer of 2000. However, Ann is most proud of her ability to wah wah her way out of any solo, any time. “New York’s Ann Klein is one of those singer/songwriters whose résumé—stints as a guitarist for Natalie Imbruglia, PM Dawn, Ani DiFranco and others—gives her license to howl. And for her fifth album, a half-studio/half-live affair, Klein proves her dues-paying was worth it. The lusty twang of “Truth & the Bluff” contrasts with the atmospheric serenity of “My Old Shoes” (Klein’s pal Eric Ambel guests on both), yet whether raving up or revving down, Klein’s confident delivery and musky, Joan Osborne-esque pipes consistently keep the material’s core emotions in focus. Over on the live disc the Klein trio, abetted by Ambel’s wife Mary Lee Kortes on backing vocals, lets its collective hair down, notably on “Fun for the Rich,” a slinky slice of psychedelic fusion in which Klein unleashes her inner Hendrix. Somebody call the Bonnaroo bookers: This gal’s as steamy as a hot July afternoon.” Fred Mills, HARP ".... a dynamo guitarist .." (Billboard)
