Growing up in the South Van Cortlandt Park area of the Bronx, Amzterdam absorbed the influences of the classics of hip hop and developed his own production style embraced with versatility.
Nourdan Kadrakunov, 24, was born in Kyrgyzstan, located in the Central Asian region to an Asian father and a Persian mother. When Nourdan was 9 years old, the family moved to the Bronx, New York. Amzterdam has been active in the local rap scene, producing for local artists of the Bronx area. Amzterdam’s main focus has been working with a rapper from South Bronx, Bronxtale, who has appeared on numerous local mixtapes. In 2007, Amzterdam relocated to Toronto, but keeps very strong ties with New York.
Currently, some of Amzterdam’s main projects include BronxTale’s mixtape “From the Belly of the Bronx” featuring local New York artists and a mixtape between Toronto and New York “From the Belly of the Bronx (Toronto Affiliates)”, which will be distributed and featuring artists in both cities; Bronxtale’s debut album under L.A.A entertainment;
Amzterdam is presently working with I Respect Music Canada in promotion and introduction of his production to the Toronto hip hop scene. “My style is everything from a typical 90’s beat to a modern radio hit.”
