Born on July 10, 1982, Austin Barry has been singing since the age of 5 years old. At 8 years old he began taking piano lessons to go along with his singing abilities. Born on July 10, 1982, Austin Barry has been singing since the age of 5 years old. At 8 years old he began taking piano lessons to go along with his singing abilities. Austin's first genres were folk, gospel and classical. He is a Bari-Tenor. All throughout his preteens Austin was in a singing group with his younger brother Adam called The Barry Brothers. They both performed in concerts throughout churches in Manhattan. Austin was accepted to Laguardia High School of the Performing Arts although he did not attend. For four years in undergraduate college Austin performed in Pop Ensembles, chamber orchestras and broadway productions. Austin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music (Voice) in May 2004. Two months later in July Austin was named a songwriter for BMI. In October of the same year Austin recorded a demo with 5 songs and was contacted by 2 California record labels who were interested in him as a songwriter. In September 2005 he began graduate school on Long Island and majored in Jazz/Commercial Music Performance. He received a Master of Jazz/Commerical Music performance degree in December 2006. Austin was recently featured in his own show in Manhattan at Dillon's Supper Club on March 9, 2007. Austin continues to sing, compose and record songs. He was signed to an independent record label in May 2007 and began working on his first album entitled OBSESSION, it is not the music that he is particularly accustomed to but he will grow to like it. In June 2007 Austin was featured in another show at the same venue in the city. Austin's producer attended a music convention in 2008 in Cannes France called MIDEM in order to shop his cd around to major labels.
