The collaboration of these individuals combines tar, sunlight, and mischief to generate music that you can feel from toes to core. It all started when James, a native to New York grabbed his bags and took a journey to California where he took his experiences and education then grinded them together, into a pulp, to create sensual guitar licks and roller-coaster hooks that were heard from the stage of The El Rey in Hollywood to the House of Blues in Orange County. There he was introduced to a girl whose voice was as alluring as it was powerful while she sang acoustically with her guitar over the waves of the California coast. With both of them having years alone on the stage, in captivating audiences it was nothing less than destiny that pulled them together. As a duo James and Deanna put together jigsaw pieces of their lives to create their first full length album, “Life Between Lives”. Following this through chance they stumbled upon their answer to the never ending question of what to do next with their music. After searching every crack in the sidewalk and every face in the crowd it finally came together with Jenny, Carlos, Courtney and Gideon. Jenny, a native to California is as charismatic as they come, with years of experience on the keys she can clasp the eyes and ears of every passerby with her powerful keyboard strokes and vocal harmonies; Carlos, a strong songwriter as well as bass player develops creative and winsome bass parts complimenting all that is around him; Courtney with her years of training on the viola and fine tuning of her vocals adds depth and character as only she can, and as the cherry on the top we have Gideon, having worked with multiple bands and toured worldwide creates a rhythm that tantalizes the crowd with slithering smooth movements and powerful paramount beats. Each member being from a different background culturally, having many different experiences in life and music we have now come together to constructed an Indie alternative group that has the unique creativity of a hyper active child with the bitter taste of the morning after. Due to the down to earth lyrics and captivating hooks Azure Child’s dedicated following is as diverse as the local swap meet. With ages ranging from kids with braces to the more wise and wrinkled, there are always different mixtures of personalities in the crowd. With their relentless drive to share a piece of their souls with total strangers Azure Child has created close ties across the industry and continues to be as powerful and inspiring as the first time they played together.
