Hi my real name is Michael hopkin and I am 21 Years Old. My Artist name is B.A.D MC which stands for Born After Dark MC. I live in Birmingham and was born in London and moved here when I was 8 years old. I have been rapping for almost 4 years now. At 1st I was only free styling on famous instrumentals and then after some mates and family telling me I am talented they encouraged me to get more serious, start rapping and making tracks. I have recorded 7 unofficial mixtapes, which was me rapping mainly about things that have happened to me in the past, experiences I have been through and a bit about my relationships I have been in as well. I used famous instrumentals mainly to produce my mixtape albums but have used my own lyrics mainly to express and explain to people what I have been through, i.e. the type of childhood I have had and problems. For the last year or so I have been mainly working on developing into a confident rapper and perfecting my lyrics and voice. I also have had a lot recording studio experience. Music or shall I say becoming a famous artist wasn’t my main dream but since I was about 14 or 15 I have made it my priority to become one and give it my best shot. I lost my mother to cancer when I was 6 and my father died before I was born. After school I started taking rapping more seriously and like I sed earlier made 7 mixtape albums and I was addicted to rapping and listening to music. I am an open minded person when it comes to music and so I listen to all sorts of genre’s but mainly hip hop, R&B, Rap, Garage and reggae. I also listen to others as well sometimes which help me to come up with new ideas towards my music and recently I have become more creative and have begun to produce my own beats and rap on them. I am a very honest, loyal, committed individual and hard working. Since the start of last year I have focused on trying to get herd by professionals and also get opinions from any people and so far positive feedback is all I get which is a good sign. I completed my 1st official mixtape album in the summer of 2008 called "The Grand Entrance" which is available on ITunes from January 31st 2009. Also I have been working on a new mixtape album that is expected to be completed by March 2009. I have competed in a variety of Nationwide Music competitions over 2008 and gained a vast amount of stage performance experience so the next step is to perform my own gig.
